STJ Hurricane Preparedness Fair

The STJ Angels and the St John Community Foundation, in cooperation with FEMA and VITEMA, are hosting a St. John Preparedness Fair for the Love City Community on May 18th and 19th from 10am-4pm in Franklin Powell Park. Local and national government and non-governmental organizations will be presenting their plans for resiliency for the 2018 Hurricane Season. We invite you to join us and inform yourself about how WE are preparing for and strengthening our island’s future and how YOU can better prepare yourself, your home, your business, your family and your pets for the upcoming storm season.

Vendors include VITEMA, FEMA, DHS, VIPD, VIFD, HUD, Love City Community Network, Love City Strong, All Hands, STJ Rescue, The Family Resource Center, Freshwater Church, STT Recovery Team, Canines Cats and Critters, STJ Rotary Club and many more to come!

VITEMA Director Mona Barnes will kick off the event with an inspirational speech on VITEMA’s efforts and initiatives on St. John leading into the summer months. 11 am Friday, May 18th

A joint presentation featuring representatives from Love City Strong, lead by Meaghan Enright, will feature the resiliency efforts of their partnership of non-governmental organizations and what to expect from their grassroots efforts in the event of another disaster on Saturday at 2 pm.

DJ Top Notch, Ian Samuel, and VITEMA’s Irvin Mason will emcee the two-day event.
