Musical Theater Summer Camp

Pistarckle Theater once again offers the Youth Summer Musical Theater and the Youth Playwrighting Camp for 2019. Pistarckle's Summer Camps were named the 'Best Summer Camp' by readers of the Virgin Islands Daily News for many years, and also was named one of the top fifty finalists in the National Arts and Humanities Youth Awards by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The STARZ Youth Musical Theater Camp (Camp 1) is a 6-week program focused on teaching all aspects of musical theater. Performance areas include singing, dancing, and acting -- as well as technical theater areas such as costume construction, lighting and sound design. This is the perfect camp for anyone 9 years old and up who dreams of exploring the magic of theater! This year's chosen play is Les Miserables.

Camp begins on Monday, June 17, and runs from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday. For more information and/or registration and financial aid forms, click here.

The STARZ Leadership Playwrighting Camp (Camp 2) is a 4-week program sponsored by Department of Labor for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 who are interested in the vital connection between theater and society. This year, students will create their own plays with a master playwright. Registered camp students will learn theater from the ground up. During camp, students will learn the basics of theater and leadership by writing, directing and acting in their own plays. This camp begins on Monday, July 22. Schedule and Fees:
Art of Audition: Date TBA (For new students only: before camp begins). Registered camp students will bring their audition song, practice acting and dance, learn to prepare for an audition. Fees for Art of Audition are $50 for the workshop.

Camp: $250 wk/6 wks = $1500

**Camp I tuition cost is $1500 for 6 weeks. Six-week attendance is mandatory. There are many families whose children want to enroll but tuition may be a hurdle. Please understand that all parents requesting support will be asked to supply financial forms by Friday, May 17, 2019.

Summer Camp II: Leadership Playwrighting Camp
Monday, July 22 through Friday, August 15

Registration: $25; due June 13, 2019
Camp: $100 wk/4 weeks $400

The play to be featured in the 2019 Youth Summer Musical Theater Camp is Les Miserables. Students ages 9 and up will spend 6 weeks during camp learning all facets of the performing arts.

They also will study with talented director Lauren Brody-Clarke, trained teachers/ performers, and intern assistants. Your child will learn to sing, dance, and act in various roles. Performances will be held for other summer camps, friends, family, and the larger theater community at Pistarckle Theater during the last week of camp.

The dates as of now for the 2019 Camp will be Monday, June June 17th through Friday, July 28th. We hope your child will join us for in Summer 2019 !

The 2019 Summer Musical Theater Camp will begin with the 'Art of Audition.' Then students, ages 9 and up, will spend 6 weeks during camp learning all facets of the performing arts. The students present performances during the final week of camp. Scholarships may be available based on needs and qualified applicants.
